Today we are going to looking at Temtem a massively multiplayer online creature-collection adventure inspired by Pokemon. This game comes out on January 21! Hype Hype Hype
So let’s go over the top 5 reasons you should play Temtem
Number 5 – Breeding System
Breeding is the method of creating new Temtem Eggs by putting two compatible Temtem together.
Through breeding, newborn Temtem can inherit different aspects from their parents such as Techniques, Traits and Single Values, allowing the players to create unique Temtem that cannot be otherwise be found naturally in the wild
This system sounds really cool because it gives you a reason to breed in order to get a special Temtem. This gives it a purpose versus just being able to go out and track down the exact one you want. This looks like a complex but rewarding system that takes into account many factors like fertility.
I am not 100% sure but I am assuming that you can also work with other players to breed. Think about how cool that would be for you and your friends to get together and mix up two of your guys Temtem and awaiting for the results. Definitely see how valuable this would be in an online world. Maybe you have a super rare Temtem that everyone wants to breed with!
Number 4 – Character Customization
Customization is the element of the game related to how players change their looks to stand out from the crowd. Cosmetics are purchasable in Cosmetic Shops and can also be obtained as a reward or found in the world.
Alright now we know this is an MMO for reals because you can make your character look awesome and unique. Seems like there are a lot of ways you can make yourself look cool and different than other people. Not only can you personal appearance look different but your clothes can be totally unique as well. On the Kickstarter campaign they even mentioned you could dress up in full-on cosplay as your favorite Temtem.
This is why we play MMOs to look cool infront of other people and I think there are a lot of ways you can do that in Temtem. You can even dye your outfit to be super unique. Donut backpacks?
This seems like a huge reward for beating someone out in the world
Number 3 – Pokemon but not
So of course the first thing you think of when you see this game is Pokemon. And thats a good thing. They even say it in their first line inspired by Pokemon. They are not trying to shy away from doing the things we loved about Pokemon, I mean why mess with something so successful. But I think they take all the good things about Pokemon and add onto that. I think unlocking the online aspect of this world is key
Number 2 – Play with friends
Being able to catch, collect, fight with your friends is awesome. In Pokemon we had fun talking about all the cool things we did by ourselves but now being able to share adventures and explore a world with our friends is so cool.
Going through the story, finding rate Temtems, breeding them. So much adventures lie ahead for you and your friends.
I know right now you play
And the Number 1 reason you should play Temtem… Competitive Battles… Think Esports
Temtem battles are the form of competition between tamers in the Airborne Archipelago. Tamers can have up to six Temtem in their squad, but only two at a time will be able to battle. In Temtem, battles are turn-based, so tamers will take turns commanding their Temtem in battle until all Temtem on the opposing side are exhausted and the team emerges as the winner.
Battles are focused on 2v2 (although there will be some 2v1 battles against untamed Temtem or 1v1 battles with other players). Notably, very little RNG is used in Temtem battles compared to other games of the same genre.
The competitive scene is based on 2v2 battles with a pick and ban system. Each player can have up to 10 Temtem in their competitive squad and will take turns deciding which Temtem they choose for themselves and which Temtem they want to ban from the opponent, until they end up with 4 Temtem that will be used to battle.
- Trying to think of the best combo (which best 2 Temtem)
- Going out in the world and finding best ones
- Breeding best ones
- Pick and Ban
- Reminds me of DoTa or LoL pick and ban
- Hearthstone comparisons
