While there are a handful of great massively multiplayer online roleplaying games out there,
most of them are gated by one of the most difficult barriers to pass through with many gamers:
a paid subscription. Not only that but even the MMORPGs without a paid subscription are still
behind a hefty one-time purchase. It can be difficult to find a completely free MMORPG in
One that has no initial payment, no monthly subscription, and only an optional cash shop.
Fortunately, we’ve carefully curated a list of the best free to play MMORPGs going into 2020
that anyone can play regardless of their financial situation.
Magic: Legends MMO
Magic: LEGENDS MMO is an MMORPG based on the wildly popular card game Magic: The
Gathering. The same studios who brought us a Star Trek MMO is hoping to make a card game
into a massively multiplayer online title. Of course, they teased it was going to be a AAA title,
but then came out to tell us it was going to be a free-to-play title. Recent activity points to the
title releasing sooner than later in 2020, so look forward to somehow playing a devil’s mixture
of a card game and MMO.
Corepunk looks like World of Warcraft, Diablo, League of Legends, and Torchlight decided to
get together and have a love child. Of course, it’s going to have very basic roles such as tank,
damage dealer, and healer, but at this point, what else can you really do in an MMORPG other
than this holy trinity? Fortunately, it looks to be an open world. Unfortunately, it looks to be
covered by a fog of war-type mechanic. One that would trigger the anxiety of old StarCraft
Black Desert Mobile
Black Desert Mobile, a trimmed down version of the popular Black Desert game was released at
the end of 2019, so it’s something you can enjoy now well into 2020 and beyond. There are
only a couple of classes available and, of course, there’s going to be some mobile limitations
but it’s a solid MMO if you’re not looking to spend a dime.
