Elder Scrolls Online is one of the biggest MMORPG’s right now for sure. The game has aged like a fine wine. However, in reality, the release of the game was a disaster. When we remember the release of Elder Scrolls Online in 2014, it was catastrophic. Server problems and monetization destroyed the game. Also, there was one more problem with it, it had to live up to the ridiculous expectations of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As we all know Elder Scrolls: Skyrim was one of the best games of the last decade. The game is still wildly popular and Zenimax Online and Bethesda wanted to use this in their favor by creating an MMO. But in the beginning, things did not go as planned. The monthly subscription fee, in particular, was ridiculous and chased away the players the most. However, today ESO is one of the best MMORPGs out there. Let us check how it is to play Elder Scrolls Online in 2020?

As we have said before, Elder Scrolls Online changed a lot over the years. The game became a refugee player base for World of Warcraft players, these players love World of Warcraft but after the Battle of Azeroth blunder, they just moved to other games. Unlike other MMORPGs Elder Scrolls Online in 2020 is much better than Elder Scrolls Online in 2014. The only downside of the game is the cost of expansion packs. However, you can unlock nearly everything with ESO Plus as well. The game has huge zones and an insane number of quests and it hakes hours to even complete one small zone. You have dungeons and delves in each zone and these dungeons and delves are very different from each other in every zone. Delves are these mini-dungeons that you can solo by yourself. The most amazing thing about ESO is, you can play however you want. You can solo nearly the entire content. The main story is great and definitely worth playing and it helps you greatly on the way to reaching level 50.

The current level cap is 50, which you can manage in a week. Afterward, you will start accumulating Champion Points. The content is great and spans many different locations in Tamriel. Also, with the addition of the latest expansion pack Greymoor DLC we are finally heading to the Skyrim. The game did not feature Skyrim until now. There are 10 different races in the game, these races divided into 3 factions and they are hostile towards each other. However, Imperials as a race is apart but can join any faction. These factions are,

  • Daggerfall Covenant: Orcs, Bretons, and Redguard
  • Ebonheart Pact: Nords, Argonians and Dark Elves
  • Aldmeri Dominion: Khajiit, High Elves and, Wood Elves

The PvP is still revolving around this. However, after the recent optimizations, the PvP content is much better than before. Now the PvP battle scenes are not as laggy as before. Of course, we should remind you the PvP content is so vast and amazing, attacking to fortresses and defending them is very fun.

The amount of classes is still low in Elder Scrolls Online 2020. The reason behind this is not to over saturate the game and since you can even choose a tank class and create a DPS character out of it, it is unnecessary. This is where Elder Scrolls Online is different from other MMORPG games out there. You can create a magic-based character and later switch them to a tank. This is what makes the game so versatile and replayable for thousands of hours. Elder Scrolls Online changed a lot over the years and the game is definitely worth playing in 2020
