In reality Magic: The Gathering is one of the oldest card games we have today. This was all much before Heartstone and Gwent for example, Magic: The Gathering was released as a stand-alone card game in 1993. It was a massive success, it was promoted very well, also nearly all the kids around the world saw and played with these cards. Of course, after this success, the game had to come to the video games industry. There have been several games until now and even one of them was designed by Sid Meier. However, none of them was even close to the hype of Magic: Legends and today we will discuss everything we know so far.

Magic: The Gathering has extensive lore and according to the developers this game will be included in it as well. The game even has a tournament where the winner gets $40,000. Magic: Legends will take place before the War of the Spark. Players will be able to visit some of the most interesting places in Magic: The Gatherings lore, for example, places like the Island of Siv. The game is expected to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox. The PC version of the game is expected to release on Q4 of 2020 and the console versions on 2021. According to the developers, players can rest assured that the card game essence of the game will still be there.

In Magic: Legends, players will be a Planeswalker currently there are 5 classes. Each class will feature one of Magic: The Gatherings color and players will get a 12-card deck for their spells and enchantments. These classes have very distinct differences until now we saw only Geomancer and Mind Mage, and while Geomancer is very much DPS based Mind Mage is different and plays with enemies with her spells. Players can also upgrade their abilities and skills. Currently, there are three types of spells in the game, and these are Sorcery for direct attacks, summoning pets and enchantments. Players also have access to another 12-card deck, which you can build as you want.

Some of the locations in the world is being created with the help of the fans of the game and we believe this is cool because lots of games failed because of not matching fan’s expectations. The game has open-world areas as well as instanced locations. Even though there are 5 classes in the game, players are not restricted to their colors and can use any colors. But, you can only create a deck from two different colors. Currently, there is a PvP mode in the game and players are encouraged to play it with bonuses and gifts. You need to kill enemies to win shards, and later you can use these shards for upgrading your spells. Magic: Legends will be a free-to-play game and this is amazing in our opinion. We just hope that Cryptic Studios will be able to live up to the expectations.
